12th Annual Memorial University Scholarship Golf Tournament
The 12th Annual Memorial University Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 at The Wilds at Salmonier River Golf Course.
This event provides an opportunity to enjoy a round of golf on a wonderfully scenic lay-out, participate in a great luncheon/social and, most importantly, make a contribution to the future by supporting deserving students as they pursue their dreams and aspirations.
As a result of last years event a grand total of $50,100 will have been provided to forty-one second and third year students at Memorial since the inception of the Tournament (1998).
Due to the generosity of those who have supported the Tournament, the capital endowment of the Memorial University Golf Tournament Scholarship Fund will reach the $195,000 level by April 1st, 2009.
One of the highlights each year is the presentation of additional scholarships to those students who have been selected from all units of the university based on academic achievement.
A display outlining the history of the event, past recipients of the Golf Fund Scholarship, all corporate and individual participants/donors, and all present and former members of the operation committee is located in the hallway between the Field House and Physical Education building on campus.
