Giving to Memorial

This has been an outstanding year for philanthropy at Memorial University.

More than 5,250 alumni and friends (including individuals, corporations and foundations) donated $9.04 million to Memorial University in 2004-05.

The total amount of outstanding pledges now stands at $13.8 million.

The contributions are too numerous and varied to capture in a summary report. However, the following examples illustrate the range of support for our students and for the University as a whole.

Support from our alumni, friends, corporations, faculty and staff continue to grow as those individuals make an investment in the future of our students, our province and our university. Without their support, many new iniatives would be impossible to fulfill.

One area where our donors continue to strongly support is scholarships. Without this financial support, many students would miss the opportunity to come to Memorial University.
